Dear Southern Boone School District Families,
As we approach the holiday season and the start of winter break, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our students, families and staff for making this first semester so successful. The support and collaboration in our Southern Boone community continue to make our schools a special place to learn and grow.
Looking back on 2024, our district has much to celebrate. We have seen incredible accomplishments in our schools, with our students excelling academically, artistically, and athletically. Our dedicated staff have worked tirelessly to create a positive and enriching learning environment, and their efforts have truly made a difference in the lives of our students. These achievements are a reflection of the strength and spirit of our community.
As we look ahead to 2025 and the second half of the school year, we are excited about the opportunities that lie before us. Together, we will continue to build on our successes, support our students in reaching their goals, and ensure that our district remains a place where everyone can thrive.
This time of year provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of our students, celebrate the spirit of giving, and enjoy time with loved ones. Whether you are traveling, staying close to home, or simply taking a well-deserved rest, I hope this holiday season brings you peace, joy, and happiness.
On behalf of the entire Southern Boone School District, I wish you all a warm, safe, and joyful holiday season. As always, thank you for your continued support of our students, staff and entire school district.
Happy Holidays!
Yours in Education,
Dr. Tim Roth
School Superintendent

2025-2026 District Calendar Parent/Community Survey
As we begin planning for the 2025-2026 school year, your input is essential in shaping the district calendar. Balancing instructional time for students, professional learning for staff, and the needs of our families and community is a priority, and your feedback plays a critical role in this process.
We invite you to complete the survey linked below to share your thoughts and preferences regarding the upcoming school calendar:

The survey will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024.

Once a draft is ready, it will be presented to the Board of Education for review at the January 13th, 2025, board meeting and shared with families, staff, and the community later that month. The final calendar will be submitted to the Board of Education for approval during the February 18th, 2025 board meeting.

Ashland 2024 Red Kettle Campaign
A message from Bern Bonderer: Ring-A-Ling, Ring-A-Ling!
Hello Ashland Community!
I am coordinating the Red Kettle Campaign for the Ashland location again this year. This is my 15th year!
Everything will be the same as in the past. Bell ringing will take place at Moser’s. If you would like to ring, please contact me and I will give you the details. You may ring for 10 minutes or 10 hours! There is no set schedule. I DO have to report all ringers and times to the Salvation Army so please do NOT just go over there and ring.
As with everyone else, The Salvation Army is short on staffing and ringers. And they could use all of the help they can get. So please consider taking a little time to ring. Also, please pass the word around to family, friends, church groups, schools, clubs, organizations, sports teams, or whomever you can think of!
Let’s ring every day until New Year’s Eve!
Thanks so much!!
