Dear Southern Boone School District Families,
As we continue to move forward in the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and engagement in our district. Your voice plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Southern Boone, and I encourage you to take part in two important opportunities to recognize excellence and provide valuable feedback.
First, I invite you to participate in our Climate and Culture Survey. This survey is a vital tool that helps us understand the strengths of our district and identify areas for growth. Your input allows us to make informed decisions that enhance the educational experience for all students. The survey is open to parents and community members, and I encourage you to take a few moments to share your thoughts. You can access the survey and learn more here: Climate and Culture Survey.
Additionally, we are seeking nominations for the Eagle Foundation Awards. These awards recognize outstanding educators, staff members, and community supporters who make a significant impact on our district. If you know someone who goes above and beyond for our students, this is a great way to honor their hard work and dedication. Please consider submitting a nomination by visiting Eagle Foundation Award Nominations. The deadline is this Friday, March 14th.
Your participation in both of these opportunities helps us celebrate excellence and continue to grow as a district. Thank you for being a part of the Southern Boone community and for your ongoing commitment to our students, staff and school district.
Yours in Education,
Dr. Tim Roth
School Superintendent
Parent/Guardian Climate and Culture Survey
The school district is preparing to review its Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP). A CSIP is a three to five year strategic plan for a school district. A climate and culture survey is part of the CSIP review process. Below is a link to take the school district's Parents/Community Climate and Culture Survey. The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
TAKE THE PARENT/GUARDIAN CLIMATE AND CULTURE SURVEY HERE
The CSIP serves as a long-range plan for addressing student performance and describes a specific set of actions to be undertaken over time, including living out a compelling mission (our why) and chasing an amazing vision (what we hope to become) in the next few years.
Your survey responses are confidential and will be shared with the administrative team and CSIP Committee. The feedback and survey data will provide a valuable resource as our district stakeholders come together to review our current plan.
You can learn more about the district’s Continuous School Improvement Plan at sbschools.us/csip.

Southern Boone Recognized as 2025 Purple Star School District
The Southern Boone School District has been named a 2025 Purple Star School District, one of only 25 schools and districts in Missouri to receive this prestigious designation.
The Missouri Purple Star School designation is awarded to military-friendly schools that have demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting students and families connected to our nation’s military, including active duty, National Guard, Reserve members, and military veterans.
This recognition highlights Southern Boone’s dedication to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for military-connected students. As part of this honor, the district will receive a special Purple Star recognition to display both onsite and on the district’s website.
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) will host an award ceremony in April to celebrate the 2025 Purple Star cohort.
